Update for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + broke fast charging

In November, Samsung began to distribute an update for the flagship smartphone Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 +. In addition to fixes and security patch, the update brought a new problem - some users complain about slow charging.

What is known?

The first reports of a sharp increase in the charging time (both wired and wireless) appeared a few weeks ago. Basically, these forums support Samsung in the US. Some say that the level of charge on S8 + goes up to 100% in five to six hours, in others the smartphone has completely ceased to accept charging, having turned into an "expensive brick" for a couple of days. But not only the owners of American versions of smartphones that use the Snapdragon 835 chipset instead of the company's Exynos 8895 are affected. Similar cases are recorded in the UK and Poland.

In Galaxy S8 and S8 + for our market, there are no such symptoms (judging by the absence of complaints), so it's too early to talk about the mass nature of the problem. Samsung has not yet made any official statements.
