Universal firmware for Samsung, Xiaomi and Motorola LineageOS is a year old

The company CyanogenMod was famous among geeks for its custom-made custom firmware for smartphones. Most third-party ROMs ("firmware") were based on CM. But, despite its popularity, the project was closed. Most of CyanogenMod's division was reorganized under the new name LineageOS.

The company published a short message in its blog, in which she told about her successes to her first birthday. Lineage now supports 180 devices. The project was assisted by more than 700 people, 65% of whom were translators.

The 5 most popular smartphones for LineageOS:

  • OnePlus One
  • Samsung Galaxy S3
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
  • Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S5

5 countries where LineageOS is most often installed:

  • India
  • China
  • Brazil
  • Russia
  • Germany

Recall that, like CyanogenMod once, LineageOS often remains the only way to use the current version of the android on the smartphone, in case it is no longer supported by the manufacturer.
