The specification of unannounced mobile processors Qualcomm Snapdragon 640, 670 and 460 appeared on the Net. These new items should take the place of the current Snapdragon 630, 660 and 450. The chip release dates and the first models where they will be installed are not yet known.

What was told

SoC Snapdragon 670 is made on a 10-nm process and will receive four cores of Kryo 360 Gold (Cortex-A75 with a frequency of 2 GHz) and four Kryo 385 Silver (A55) operating at 1.6 GHz. There is a graphics chip Adreno 620 m Spectra 260 ISP with support for one camera with a resolution of up to 26 megapixels or two cameras with modules at 13 megapixels. Immediately installed LTE-modem X16 at 1000 Mbit / s.

The single-chip system Snapdragon 640 is also created on a 10-nm process, but there are only two Kryo 360 Gold cores with a clock speed of 2.15 GHz and six Kryo 360 Silver cores operating at 1.55 GHz. There is a graphics chip Adreno 610. It uses the same image processor, as in Snapdragon 670 and the simplified X12 modem.

The budget processor Snapdragon 460 was created using a 14-nm process technology, received four Kryo 360 Silver (1.8 GHz) cores, four Kryo 360 Silver (1.4 GHz), Adreno 605 GPU graphics, Spectra 240 ISP module and X12 LTE modem.

What to expect

We are waiting for more powerful, perfect and cheap single-chip systems that will appear in medium-sized and cheap smartphones of various manufacturers and it is possible to make them a little cheaper and more powerful.
