LG showed the world's first 8K OLED display

While 4K-TVs fill the market, manufacturers are working on the next generation of devices. Thus, LG Display will bring to the exhibition CES 2018 a huge 88-inch OLED-panel with a record 8K-resolution of 7680x4320 pixels.

Twice the first

The company's latest development is also the largest display on organic light-emitting diodes. So far, LG's lineup has had OLED screens with a diagonal of up to 77 inches and "only" 4K-resolution. The 8K format offers four times as many pixels (33 million!), Although at 88 inches the difference in image clarity between 8K and 4K UHD can only be seen at a distance of less than a meter.

LG also at the CES 2016 presented the 98-inch 8K-TV LG UH9800, and soon you can expect a model based on OLED (so far only the display is shown). Among the advantages of the new technology is a higher maximum brightness, since in backlit screens, with an increase in resolution, the area of the pixel grid that does not transmit light significantly increases.

By the way, Samsung promised to show on CES 2018 its 8K-TV on quantum dots - QLED. The official announcement of the model will take place in the very near future.
