OnePlus: the clipboard application does not send user data to the server

Recently we wrote about the possibility that Maybe OnePlus follows their users . OnePlus could not remain silent for a long time and therefore gave an official response.

What was told

According to the manufacturer, the file badword.txt is not active in beta OxygenOS, and in the final version of the firmware it will not be at all. But it is also present and even functioning in HydrogenOS (the Chinese version of the firmware) to prevent the download of certain data. All information in the file is not deliberately sent to the server.

The reason why it exists in China is to prevent the linking of links to competitors of the WeChat application. This is due to the struggle of the major Internet giants Alibaba and Tencent.

In the dry residue

All this has nothing to do with the markets of the US and Europe, and it is not connected with the transfer of personal data of users to China. Let's hope that the official statement of OnePlus will put an end to all rumors and false accusations against the manufacturer.
