Dream Chaser: NASA unmanned spacecraft and the new competitor SpaceX Dragon V2

Representatives of the American private company Sierra Nevada (division of SpaceDev) reported that their space shuttle Dream Chaser will make its first flight in 2020.

First went

At the end of 2020, the Dream Chaser will deliver the first consignment to the ISS using an autopilot. The ship is designed for a flight with 7 crew members and transportation of 5.5 tons of cargo. Back from the International Space Station, he will be able to pick up 2 tons of cargo. It is assembled into space by means of an Atlas V.

The Dream Chaser is an airplane-type space shuttle that will be available to NASA in two years time. The ship has a stylish appearance that distinguishes it from competitors in the face of SpaceX Dragon V2 , Boeing Starliner (CST-100) and others. Among the significant advantages of this design, fast unloading of the module after docking with the station is highlighted.
