Meizu plans for 2018: 9 smartphones, focus on Samsung and Qualcomm chips

If you believe Chinese insiders, after a sharp reduction in the lineup last year, Meizu plans to slightly diversify the lineup and release more smartphones in 2018.

What did they tell?

According to recent data from the company's internal correspondence, in the first half of the year the main division Meizu will release three smartphones, and in the second half of 2018 the announcement of two more models will take place. The new season will be opened by the flagship family Meizu 15, which is expected to be released in April.

The Blue Charm division has so far planned four devices, taking into account the already presented Meizu M6s (review) and the upcoming E3 . Thus, the entire lineup will have nine smartphones against seven last year. In new devices, Meizu intends to use primarily chips Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung Exynos, as well as displays produced by Samsung.

What now?

According to rumors, at the beginning of the year sales of smartphones were not pleased, and Meizu accumulated reserves of the flagships of the Pro 7 series and state employees M6 Note. It is expected that in the second quarter the situation will be corrected by launching the brand new products.
