Recently Mark Zuckerberg admitted that the Facebook messenger is overloaded with unnecessary features. While the social network will fix the main application, Android device owners can download a light version of Messenger Lite, which was just added video calls.

How it works?

The user just open a chat with the right person and click the video call button in the upper right corner of the window. Messenger Lite supports switching to video during a voice call. No group video chat, but you do not need much from a lightweight application with an installation file less than 10 megabytes (against almost 50 megabytes from a standard client).

When?

Facebook has already begun to implement video calls in Messenger Lite, but it will take some time. Soon a new version of the app should appear on Google Play .
