Google released the first version of Android P Developer Preview

The rumor that Google may release the first version of Android P this month was confirmed. The company last night published the source of the new operating system.

What is known

There will be five versions of the Developer Preview, which is one more than it was in the past. There are a lot of changes in the OS. The first thing that catches your eye is the new design of the notification curtain, a slightly modified Pixel Launcher , a new style of settings. In addition, updated the appearance of the volume slider, added a battery indicator to the "Ambient Display" mode and the ability to create screenshots in the power menu.

At the system level, support for two cameras, non-functional areas of the screen (a cut-out for the camera and sensors), the ability to authenticate users by fingerprint in all applications, and much more.

When to expect

All users of Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL can already install a new OS. But, unfortunately, Google has officially confirmed that the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus Player will no longer receive major updates to the operating system. The second version of the firmware will be released in May, the main release will be on Google I / O 2018 , and the final build will be released in the third quarter.
