Sharp introduced the flagship Aquos R2 with a wide-angle video camera

In Japan, the announcement of the flagship smartphone Sharp Aquos R2, which received a refined design and an unusual dual camera. But first things first.

Sharp Aquos R2 is equipped with a 6-inch WQHD + screen (3040x1440 pixels) with a 19: 9 aspect ratio and a cutout for the front camera from the top. This is a fast IGZO panel with a 25% faster response speed and support for HDR format. The company adds that the device is comparable in size with its 5.3-inch predecessor Aquos R. Inside the flagship processor Snapdragon 845, 4 GB RAM, built-in 64 GB with the option of expansion by microSD card is installed.

The main feature of Sharp Aquos R2 was a camera with two independent modules. The first 22.6-megapixel is used for photography. The second 16.3-megapixel wide-angle module is designed exclusively for recording video up to 4K UHD (3840x2160 pixels). The viewing angle of the optics is 135 °, but in the rollers it will be slightly smaller due to the trimming of the frame with electronic stabilization. Sharp only announced the forthcoming release of Aquos R2 in the summer, without saying anything about the cost. There were rumors that outside of Japan there will be a two-part version of the flagship, but this information has not been confirmed yet.
