The programmer was able to run Doom on a standard Windows notebook, without modifications, with stable 60 frames

Programmer SamNChiet in his tweet showed how he launched Doom (1993) through the standard Windows Notepad. Yes, the one that most of us have already forgotten about.

Here's What We Know

The programmer wrote that he used only the standard notepad, without modifications. He promised to eventually publish the code so that everyone could also try to play such Doom. But that's not all interesting. According to the author, the game runs at a stable 60 frames per second. Who would have thought that every Windows user has a text editor by default that is capable of this. The graphics are of course a bit unusual, but the fact remains.

Flashback

This is not the first time Doom has been launched on anything other than a PC. Previously, the game has been run on a calculator, tractor, piano, chainsaw, and my favorite: you can run Doom while playing Doom.
