The release of Microsoft's cloud gaming console is postponed - it's all about the price

Microsoft CEO Phill Spencer in an interview with The Verge told why the company decided to postpone the release of a game console for cloud games, which is now known under the codename Keystone.

Here's What We Know

"It turned out to be more expensive than we wanted it to be when we built it with the hardware that was inside," Spencer said, discussing a prototype console that had previously been on a shelf in his office. "We decided to focus the efforts of this team on developing a Smart TV streaming application."

Initially, the company focused on the price of $99-$129, but Spencer says that the price of the console and services from the company will be closer to the cost of Xbox Series S, which would push customers to buy a full version of the console.

The bundle of such a console is exactly the same as a regular console, including the controller, although the console will interact with any Bluetooth controllers.
