AMD introduced Ryzen 7000 processor line for notebooks. The new products are divided into four series: Ryzen 7030 (Zen 3), 7035 (Zen 3+), 7040HS (Zen 4) and 7045HX (Zen 4).

Here's What We Know

Let's start with the Ryzen 7040HS series, because AMD claims that these processors support artificial intelligence algorithms and are 20% better than the Apple M2 in terms of performance. Power efficiency is increased by 50% compared to the Apple chip.

The series is represented by Ryzen 9 7940HS, Ryzen 7 7840HS and Ryzen 7640HS processors. The first two have 8 cores and 16 threads, and the frequency is 4.0-5.2 GHz and 3.8-5.1 GHz. The most modest model gets 6 cores, 12 threads and a frequency of 4.3-5 GHz. TDP is 35-45 watts.

The more top-end series also consists of four models: the Ryzen 9 7945HX (16/32; 2.5-5.4 GHz), Ryzen 9 7845HX (12/24; 3-5.2 GHz), Ryzen 7 7745HX (8/16; 3.6-5.1 GHz) and Ryzen 5 7645HX (6/12; 4-5 GHz). The former has a TDP of 55-75+W, while the others have a TDP of 45-75+W.

The Ryzen 7035 series offers five mobile chips at once with a TDP of 35W for the top two models and 15-28W for the others. All are made with 6nm technology. The flagship is the Ryzen 7 7735HS with 8 cores, 16 threads and 3.2-4.75 GHz. The best power efficient chip is Ryzen 7 7735U. Its frequency is 2.7-4.75 GHz. The series also includes Ryzen 5 7735HS, Ryzen 5 7535U and Ryzen 3 7335U.

Finally, the most modest processors of the new generation united under the banner of Ryzen 7030. Ryzen 7 7730U got 8 cores with 2-4.5 GHz and 16 threads. Ryzen 5 7530U has the same frequencies, but only 6 cores and 12 threads. The 6-core, 12-thread Ryzen 3 7330U runs at 2.3-4.3 GHz. All chips have a TDP of 15W.
