Special Operations Forces destroy Russian tank with NLAW anti-tank system

The day before, we wrote about the destruction of a Russian T-80 tank with a Javelin anti-tank missile system. But the Ukrainian Defence Forces also have other weapons to fight against enemy armoured vehicles.

Here's What We Know

Last year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received several thousand NLAW anti-tank missile systems. Using one of them, the Special Operations Forces recently destroyed a Russian tank in the Donetsk region.

The NLAW has an inertial guidance system and allows it to hit enemy targets at a distance of up to 800 meters. The missile is capable of reaching speeds of up to 200m/s (M=0.7) during flight.

The anti-tank guided missile system was developed at the beginning of this century to replace the obsolete LAW 80 and FFV AT 4 grenade launchers. In 2009 the production started. The cost of a single NLAW complex is less than $30,000.
