WhatsApp now allows you to transfer history from Android to iPhone: here's how it works

Meta recently added a feature to the WhatsApp app that allows you to transfer history from iPhone to Android. And now it is possible to transfer chats from Android to iPhone.

What you need

• Your Android device must have Lollipop, SDK 21 or newer, or Android 5 or newer installed.
• Your iPhone must have iOS 15.5 or newer installed.
• Your Android phone must have the iOS Transfer app installed.
• Your new device must have WhatsApp for iOS version 2.22.10.70 or newer installed.
• Your old device must have WhatsApp for Android version 2.22.7.74 or newer installed.
• Your new device must use your old phone number.
• Your iPhone must be new or factory reset to pair with the Transfer to iOS app and transfer data from your Android device.
• Both devices must be connected to a power source.
• Both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You can also connect your Android device to your iPhone hotspot.

How to Transfer History from Android to iPhone

• Open the "Transfer to iOS" app on your Android device and follow the on-screen instructions.
• First, a code will be displayed on the iPhone screen. When prompted, enter the code on your Android device.
• Press "Continue" and follow the instructions on the screen.
• Select WhatsApp from the "Data Transfer" screen.
• Press "START" on your Android device and wait for WhatsApp to prepare your data for export. Once the data is ready, the Android device will exit.
• Tap "FURTHER" to return to the iOS Transfer app.
• Tap "CONTINUE" to transfer data from your Android device to your iPhone, and wait for the Transfer to iOS app to confirm that the transfer is complete.
• Download the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store.
• Open WhatsApp and sign in to the app using the phone number you used on your old device.
• When prompted, tap "Start" and wait for the process to complete.
