Philips introduces ergonomic sleep earbuds that help you fall asleep faster and track your sleep patterns
Philips has teamed up with sleep experts from Kokoon to introduce new earbuds that are primarily designed for sleeping rather than listening to music.
Here's How It Works
The ear buds immediately catch the eye due to their unusual shape. The in-ear design is small and only 6mm thick. At the same time, all the main electronic components and buttons are relocated to a small module that sits behind the head. The manufacturer assures you that you will not feel the module when lying down, and the headphones themselves will not cause any discomfort during the night.
As the main cause of sleep disturbance is external noise, the Philips earphones offer excellent noise isolation that works in conjunction with an intelligent noise-cancelling function, and also use slow-introducing white noise.
You can include music from the Kokoon app and services such as Spotify, Audible, Apple Music and YouTube as a lullaby. Battery life is 10 hours, but the device automatically turns off when the user falls asleep. In addition, you can use the headphones for phone calls.
With the help of accelerometers and a tiny optical heart rate sensor, the earbuds analyse how and how long the user has slept and then make recommendations to improve sleep quality.
Philips' new product is already available for pre-order for €175. But the official price is higher - €250.
