Here's What We Know
Nintendo's financial report for the first quarter of 2023 showed that the Japanese gaming company is doing more than well.
Analytics from TweakTown.com clearly showed that the company's revenues from device and game sales have exceeded $69 billion since the launch of the first Nintendo Switch consoles in March 2017!
Nintendo's successes:
- 125 million devices have been sold in seven years. Nearly 90 million of these were the standard version, 21.02 million were Nintendo Switch Lite units, and the OLED screen model sold more than 15 million units;
- 94% of Nintendo's revenue comes from Switch ecosystem devices and games;
- Nintendo Switch has sold more than 1 billion games for the platform
Nintendo Switch remains a hugely sought-after device, although its sales have slowed somewhat. The Japanese company expects to sell 15 million consoles in fiscal 2023.
Nintendo has consistently released top-notch games for its devices, such as the release of 'Greatest game of the decade' - critics rave about The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and give the Nintendo novelty top rates on aggregators a few days ago, which was hailed by critics as one of the best games of the decade and the best game from Nintendo.
