SpaceX will launch the Japanese ispace module Hakuto-R with the rover Rashid to the Moon to study the environment

The U.S. company SpaceX will send a Japanese lunar module with a rover developed in the United Arab Emirates to the moon next week.

Here's What We Know

The Japanese company's ispace module is called Hakuto-R. The launch is scheduled for November 28, 2022. The Falcon 9 carrier rocket will launch from Cape Canaveral Cosmodrome. Hakuto-R will be the first ever private company module to visit the moon.

Hakuto-R will carry the Rashid rover, which was developed in the United Arab Emirates, to the natural satellite of our planet. Its purpose is to study the environment. For this purpose, the device is equipped with a thermal imager, a set of cameras and other equipment. The journey to the moon will take several months. In mid-spring 2023 Hakuto-R will reach the surface of the satellite.
