Mark Hamill became United24's ambassador in September at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In less than a month he managed to raise funds for the purchase of several hundred drones.

Here's What We Know

The actor, who played Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, the first episode of which was released 45 years ago, told Bloomberg Radio's Sound On program. According to Hamill, he was shocked that his participation in United24 helped achieve such results in such a short period of time.

He is updated three times a week on the progress of the campaign. The actor noted that the fundraising platform has already been able to raise funds for the purchase of more than 500 drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In addition to Mark Hamill, other famous people also joined the United24 initiative. In particular, Ukrainian soccer player Andriy Shevchenko, American actress Barbara Streisand and the Imagine Dragons band.
