Microsoft has assured that it intends to release Call of Duty on the next Switch, which is "in development"
The fact that Nintendo is developing a new console may not seem like such a fantastic idea anymore, especially considering that the current Switch generation is already in its seventh year of life (of course, there were Lite and OLED versions, but they are de facto the same console), and in recent weeks there has been a lot of evidence of a Switch successor, even from Microsoft.
Here's What We Know
In its lawsuit with the FTC, Microsoft mentions a successor to the Nintendo Switch, which, according to the company, should be released around 2024. Microsoft claims that they have "...an obligation to deliver the Nintendo version of Call of Duty for the Switch console and future updates", as well as "...an obligation to make Call of Duty available on the Switch model currently in development".
Apparently, this refers to the agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo, under which the company will publish new Call of Duty games for the Nintendo platform with a "full range of features and content" over the next 10 years.
Earlier, it was reported that the development of the next Nintendo console is progressing well, but its release will not take place until spring 2024. At the same time, in March, Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser said that Nintendo is confident in Switch's performance and has no plans to update the console yet .
