The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been using American 70 mm Hydra missiles for several months now. Recently, the Defence Forces showed the process of loading Hydra into the Mi-24V helicopter.

Here's What We Know

Hydra is an unguided aircraft missile designed to destroy military equipment and enemy manpower. The missiles allow the army aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike by coasting.

The M261 launcher on the Mi-24V helicopter holds 19 Hydra. By the way, the helicopters themselves arrived in Ukraine from the Czech Republic. A special adapter is provided for attaching the launcher to the pylon. At the same time, there is no information about the use of additional equipment.

Depending on the configuration Hydra can hit targets at a distance of up to 8 km. Apparently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received unguided missiles with fragmentation warheads.
