Vivo X20 Plus UD: the first smartphone with a screen fingerprint scanner was rated at $ 565

As expected , Vivo officially introduced a modification of the Vivo X20 Plus smartphone with a built-in fingerprint scanner. In China, the gadget will be available next week.

How it works?

The Vivo X20 Plus UD uses Synaptics technology . When the user tries to unlock the device, the light of the screen pixels is reflected from the surface of the finger and falls on the photosensitive sensor under the AMOLED panel. Now on the back of the metal case there is only a dual camera. The described identification method is not suitable for IPS displays, but JDI engineers have found an alternative.

What about the characteristics?

Actually, the new scanner is the only noticeable difference from the standard version, which appeared on sale in the fall . The smartphone is equipped with 6.43-inch AMOLED-display with a resolution of 2160x1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18: 9. For speed meets the eight-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. RAM 4 GB, and in addition to the built-in drive for 128 GB, there is a slot for memory cards microSD.

The rear camera Vivo X20 Plus UD consists of a main 12-megapixel module with Dual Pixel technology for fast focusing, as well as an auxiliary 5 megapixel camera. The front camera is also 12-megapixel, and this is also a Dual Pixel sensor. The system of optical stabilization is both there and there. The battery capacity of 3905 mAh supports fast charging.

How much innovation?

The smartphone will go on sale in the home market on February 1. The price of the Vivo X20 Plus UD is 3,598 yuan, which is equivalent to $ 565. Not so cheap, however, the basic version with the "usual" fingerprint and 64 GB of memory costs only $ 50 less.

Vivo introduced the first and so far the only mass device with a scanner in the display. According to rumors, Xiaomi and Oppo have chosen Qualcomm technology, but the necessary components will be produced only in the spring. Samsung will introduce sensors of a new type into its flagships not earlier than Galaxy Note 9.
