Qualcomm held a technology summit in Beijing to strengthen ties with its Chinese partners. The event was attended by OPPO CEO Tony Chen (Tony Chen), who spoke about the company's plans for the next generation of mobile communication standard - 5G.
According to the director, the manufacturer started its research and development three years ago, cooperating with Qualcomm. Thus, the company will be included in the list of the first OEM-manufacturers that will start producing smartphones with support for networks of the 5th generation. OPPO also announced that it is joining Qualcomm's "5G Pilot" program to jointly explore the innovations of mobile technology in the era of 5G networks.
