The non-contact system was introduced in the summer of 2015. Kiev became the fifth city in the world, where a new payment method is available directly at the turnstile. The first time it was possible to pay only cards with Mastercard PayPass technology. In April 2017 Visa PayWave cards were added, and since November the system supports payment by a smartphone via Android Pay Google Pay . To get to the station, you just need to attach a card or mobile device to the reader.

A mark of 25 million contactless payments was taken on the eve of the three-year launch of the project. Today, this way is paid for more than 85 thousand trips daily. The decision was taken by passengers from 67 countries. Contactless payment is accepted on the new yellow turnstiles, which are becoming increasingly in the Kiev metro.

In the subways of Kharkov and Dnieper, Mastercard technology is not being implemented quickly, but it is used in Mukachev buses and in parking lots in Kiev, Lviv, Dnipro, Odessa and Chernivtsi.
