The era of compact smartphones is coming to an end: the first details of the Samsung Galaxy S25 design have emerged

Samsung has had a tradition of releasing its flagship S-series smartphones with different body size options for quite some time now. The youngest model has always been in a compact body. But judging by the new leaks, the small-sized Galaxy S smartphones will soon be a thing of the past.

Here's What We Know

Today, popular insider @Tech_Reve tweeted that he received information from Yeux1122 that the upcoming Galaxy S25 base model will be increased in size. According to him, there is a possibility that the screen in the base Galaxy S25 will increase from the existing 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches.

From @Tech_Reve's words, it looks like the general trend of larger smartphones is getting more and more popular. Even Apple's base model iPhone 16 Pro is increasing to 6.3 inches, and as well as the size of the base model Xiaomi 15 in China will also increase.

Samsung has recently launched three versions of its S series flagships. Taking the new lineup as an example, it's the compact Galaxy S24 with a screen size of 6.2 inches, the mid-range variant Samsung Galaxy S24+ with a 6.7-inch screen size and the largest model Galaxy S24 Ultra got a 6.8-inch screen.

Compared to last year's Galaxy S23 lineup, the screen sizes in the new models have increased by 0.1 inches and it looks like the trend of increasing the size of the Galaxy S lineup smartphones may continue in the future.

As for information about the specifications of the upcoming Galaxy S25 smartphones, it is very scarce. The same insider previously reported that the Galaxy S25 lineup will abandon its own GN3 camera sensors and will install only sensors from Sony. There was also an earlier rumour that future S25 series devices will only get Exynos processors.
