French studio DON'T NOD will split into three divisions to produce games of different genres

French studio DON'T NOD is changing its algorithm - the developers reported about it in an interview with IGN and VentureBeat.

Here's What We Know

The main change in the work of DON'T NOD will be the division of the company into three divisions, each of which will not only develop, but also independently publish games of their genre. Thus, one team will be engaged in the production of role-playing games, another will focus on action-adventure games, and the third on narrative games, for which DON'T NOD is famous. At the same time, the studio's management says it will do without layoffs.

At the moment DON'T NOD is producing five of its own projects, of which only one is announced - Lost Records Bloom & Rage. It's a Life is Strange-style game, and its atmosphere is reminiscent of the TV series Very Strange Things (Stranger Things). Four more games will be presented by French developers a little later.

DON'T NOD will be the publisher of two third-party games. One of the projects will be an unannounced action-RPG from Italian studio Tiny Bull, and the second game will be an adventure game Koira from Belgian studio Tolima, which will be the debut work of the team.

DON'T NOD is interested in long-term co-operation with third-party companies and wants to diversify its game line-up as much as possible.

French studio said that "to focus on the release of AA-games or slightly higher" and does not plan to enter the segment of big-budget projects.

Recall, DON'T NOD is known for such projects as Life is Strange, Vampyr, Twin Mirror Remember Me. And recently the studio released the highly appreciated climbing adventure game Jusant and action-RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
