Garmin's new beta update adds a host of new smartwatch features

A new beta update for Garmin smartwatches has pleased users with additional features and troubleshooting.

Here's What We Know

Users can now download this update to their compatible watches, but they must first register for the beta programme.

One of the key changes is that the ECG function is disabled in the Fenix 7 series during the beta cycle. This feature will be restored later, after the beta testing is completed. After testing, the ECG functionality will be available again.

Other updates include the Messenger app, Applied Ballistic Wind Mode, Indoor Activities, and many other useful additions and improvements. The update also fixed a number of bugs and issues, improving the overall experience of using the watch.

The Ballistic Wind Applied Mode is a feature that allows Garmin watch users to obtain wind data that can be useful when shooting or in other ballistics-related situations.

Garmin watch owners can go to the settings and download the update if they are registered in the beta programme.
