What's new in iOS 17.5 Beta 1

Our colleagues at MacRumors took a look at iOS 17.5 Beta 1 and shared the system's changes.

Here's What's New About It

Starting with iOS 17.5, iPhone users in the EU will be able to download iOS apps directly from developer websites.

Apple has also added an updated Podcasts widget to the system. The background colour of the widget now changes depending on the colour of the podcast cover. This innovation first appeared in the beta version of iOS 17.4, but was removed before the update was released.

By the way, in the code of iOS 17.5 Beta 1 also spotted a feature that will warn the user about GPS trackers. The innovation is not yet active, but it is likely to be added to the firmware in future beta versions of the software.

When We Can Expect It

If everything goes according to plan, the release of iOS 17.5 will take place in May.
