Internal passwords leaked: Microsoft reveals security breach due to actions of its employees

Microsoft has announced that its employees have discovered a security flaw that led to the leakage of internal passwords and credentials.

Here's What We Know

According to a report from SOCRadar, cybersecurity experts, an open storage server in the Microsoft Azure cloud was discovered. This server contained confidential information, including passwords and access keys used by employees to access internal databases and systems, including the Bing search engine.

The unprotected server became accessible on the Internet due to a security flaw. The exposed data could have been used by attackers to identify and access other Microsoft systems.

Microsoft was notified of this flaw back in February, and the company fixed the problem in March. So far, the corporation has not provided detailed information about how long the server was open and whether other people besides SOCRadar researchers could have accessed confidential information.

This is not the first time a security breach at Microsoft has caused serious discussions. The company is actively engaged in restoring customer confidence after past incidents and continues to improve its security systems to prevent future attacks.
