Ukrainian An-124 Ruslan transported Spanish helicopters to Iraq

A Ukrainian An-124 cargo plane successfully delivered two modern Spanish Chinook F helicopters to Iraq to replace the Cougar.

Here's What We Know

The Chinook F will form the basis of the new Toro Task Force, and the Spaniards want to deploy three helicopters to Iraq in total. The first two were delivered to the country in the Middle East by a Ukrainian An-124 transport aircraft, including various repair kits.

But that's not all. The second batch is scheduled to include another helicopter and the necessary equipment for their operation. This is not the first time that Spanish Chinook F helicopters have been used in Iraq. Previously, the D version has already taken part in the Inherent Resolve mission, which is aimed at supporting Middle Eastern countries in the fight against terrorism.

According to Infodefensa, the Spanish Ministry of Defence often uses Antonov aircraft to transfer equipment abroad.
