Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team has used artificial intelligence to develop a 25-year strategic plan for the country's development. The head of the government said this during an interview with the ANI news agency.

Here's What We Know

According to Modi, his team collected the views of over 1.5 million people and then used AI to systematise and categorise this information.

"I made it subject-wise with the help of AI. This is our blueprint for 25 years, which is my own vision now" stated the Prime Minister.

Modi did not reveal the details of the roadmap, but said the plans will be implemented after the upcoming elections in India, in which he is running for a third term and has a high chance of winning.

Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already unveiled its election manifesto, in which it promises to use AI to fight drug trafficking and improve traffic management. The document also outlines India's existing "AI development mission", including a $1.24bn funding package.

India is also trying to regulate the development of artificial intelligence. In March, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued guidelines requiring technology companies to obtain approvals before launching new AI tools.
