Famous rapper Drake has found himself at the centre of a debate about the use of AI technology after a new track titled 'Push Ups' was leaked.

Here's What We Know

Last year, Drake and his label Universal Media Group already faced the issue of AI voice clones mimicking his voice. Then the record company reacted harshly, demanding the removal of one of such tracks. Drake himself has also spoken out against the use of AI in music, calling it "the last straw".

However, earlier this week, a new track leaked online that fans believe may have been created again using AI to copy Drake's voice. In "Push Ups," the rapper allegedly mocks Kendrick Lamar and producer Metro Boomin.

While the voice sounds similar to Drake's, there are small artefacts noticeable in it, giving away the artificial origin.

That said, Drake himself has not officially confirmed his authorship of the track. Instead, he posted a mock video on social media using deepfake technology, in which Metro Boomin is replaced by Nick Cannon from the 2002 film Drumline.

Drake seems to maintain an ambiguous stance on the use of AI technology in music. While he has previously criticised voice clones, he's now kind of okay with using such tools to create memes and confuse the debate around the issue.
