Samsung announces its strategic plan: Dominating the memory industry for artificial intelligence

Samsung Electronics is launching an ambitious plan to establish its dominance in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and expects demand from artificial intelligence to grow.

Here's What We Know

The popularity of artificial intelligence systems is driving increased demand for high-bandwidth memory that supports fast computing and data exchange. As a leading memory supplier, Samsung sees this trend as a strategic opportunity to strengthen its market position.

According to Kim Kyung-ryung, Vice President of Memory Product Planning at Samsung Electronics, the company is actively combining its technological and financial resources to meet the diverse needs of customers in the field of artificial intelligence.

The company plans to focus on optimising the hardware infrastructure for HBM products by unifying the core dies for data storage and diversifying packaging and core dies. In addition, Samsung will actively support the trend towards personalisation by maximising design elements and implementing platformisation.

As part of its strategy, Samsung plans to optimise its hardware infrastructure and expand the possibilities of customising products.

In particular, Samsung has already introduced its newest product, 36GB HBM3E 12H DRAM, which has significantly higher capacity than any other product on the market.
