Google Chrome will soon allow users to digitally sign PDFs with a signature

The latest beta version of Google Chrome has introduced the ability to digitally sign PDF files. This feature may soon be added to the stable version of the web browser, allowing users to insert their digital signature into a PDF document.

Here's What We Know

Google Chrome includes a robust and fast PDF viewer that allows users to quickly open a PDF document without quitting the browser or opening another application.

The latest beta version of Google Chrome includes an option to include a digital signature in a PDF document. The developer version of Chrome Canary 126 has an experimental flag that enables the "PDF Ink Signatures" feature when activated. Google has not yet activated the new PDF Ink Signature feature in the stable version of the Chrome web browser. However, the presence of the flag in the Canary version of the web browser is a powerful indicator of potential features.

Chrome's competitor, Microsoft Edge, is well ahead of the curve when it comes to editing PDF documents. Microsoft Edge has a handy PDF viewer that also has a full suite of editing tools such as Draw, Eraser, Highlighter, etc. Chrome is just catching up with the competition and digital signature support is the first of many annotation tools to come in the future.

A flag in Chrome Canary confirms that the digital signature tool will be available in the upcoming stable version of Chrome web browser. However, there is no confirmed rollout schedule.
