GA-ASI has unveiled combat test footage of the ultra-modern Mojave UAV, equipped with two rotary machine guns and 16 AGM-114 Hellfire missiles
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has partnered with weapons manufacturer Dylan Arrow General to show off the capabilities of the Mojave unmanned system.
Here's What We Know
In mid-April, the ultra-modern Mojave drone, which can perform reconnaissance, patrol and combat missions, was combat tested at the Yuma Proving Grounds in Yuma, Arizona.
This aircraft-style UAV is equipped with two Dillon Aero DAP-6 pylon-mounted launchers under each wing, which carry six-barrel M134D-H rotary machine guns capable of firing 3,000 rounds per minute.
The Mojave can carry up to 16 AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, with a future option to carry the same number of AGM-179 JAGM air-to-surface missiles.
The Mojave UAV is characterised by short take-off and landing and high adaptability, making it suitable for use in virtually any environment, including aircraft carriers and rough terrain.
Tests have confirmed that Mojave is highly modifiable and can carry virtually any weapon that does not require a long engineering preparation for installation.
The drone performed well at both low and high altitudes.
