Huggy Wuggy takes over Hollywood: a film adaptation of the popular horror game Poppy Playtime is in development

The film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy's earned $271 million, the best result among horror films in 2023. And it is expected that other authors will also want to get a similar result, so a film adaptation of another popular indie horror has been launched.

Here's What We Know

Mob Entertainment, the studio that created the popular indie horror game Poppy Playtime about a toy Huggy Wuggy that turns into a monster, has announced that it has signed an agreement with Legendary to create a film adaptation.

The first part of the game was released in 2021. It became an unexpected hit, gathering more than 12 million players on PC and mobile devices.

The film will be developed by Transformers producer Don Murphy and director Susan Montford.

There are no other details about the adaptation, but Mob Entertainment notes that this could be a potential franchise that could be profitable if done wisely.
