Rumor: the future iPad Mini will get ProMotion display with 120 Hz and will be deprived of the "jelly effect

Information about new iPad Mini tablet, which Apple is already working on, has appeared on network.

What to expect

The author of the leak assures that the next iPad Mini will receive 8,3-inch display ProMotion with refresh rate of 120 Hz. ProMotion technology means, that the refresh rate will be adaptive, i.e. the screen will select the necessary frequency depending on the content, thus saving battery life. To date, only 11- and 12,9-inch iPad Pro, and more recently  on iPhone 13 Pro and new MacBook Pro has such technology.

Recall, the iPad mini 6, which debuted just a couple of months ago, got an updated design without the Home button (Touch ID moved to power button), A15 Bionic chip, USB-C port and others. But it  had problems with the display  - users observe the so-called effect "jellybean", when half of the display is updated noticeably slower than the other, which leads to wobble effect when moving content quickly. Samsung's new screen with ProMotion technology and increased to 120 Hz sweep rate will reportedly rid the tablet of this problem.

But so far this information should be taken with some doubts. Firstly, source unverified, secondly - unlikely that Apple will transfer the technology from expensive devices to its compact, simple and inexpensive tablet.
