Files started disappearing from Google Drive - Google hasn't fixed the problem yet

Google Drive users are facing a new problem. It consists in the disappearance of files stored in the cloud.

Here's What We Know

Several users contacted Google tech support, reporting the disappearance of files from Google Drive. One of them stated that all files uploaded after May 2023 have disappeared from the storage. They are neither in the folders nor in the recycle bin.

It is worth noting that the folder structure has been restored to the state of May 2023. At the same time, the user claims that he did not share access to Google Drive with other people.

Google has not yet troubleshooted the issue. Until the cause is found, the company's tech support advises users not to make any changes to Google Drive in an attempt to restore files on their own.
