Tesla has collected more than 2 million pre-orders for its Cybertruck electric pickup truck and closed the call for applications

Four years ago, the Cybertruck electric pickup truck was announced. Today, Tesla will hold an official presentation and start sales.

Here's What We Know

A $100 deposit was required to place a pre-order. The company recently increased that amount to $250 and then refunded the previous $100. After that, Tesla closed the application process for the new pickup truck.

This autumn, the number of pre-orders exceeded 2 million. The company passed the 1 million mark in May 2021. The presentation of the electric pickup will take place today at 16:00 (EDT) or 13:00 (PDT).

Elon Musk will hand the first customers the keys to the Cybertruck and announce the start of sales. In addition, the presentation will reveal specifications and announce new prices, as the $39,000-69,000 price tag is apparently no longer relevant after being removed from the official website.
