AMN-59051 is the newest Russian MRAP, i.e. a wheeled armoured vehicle with enhanced mine protection. The Ukrainian Armed Forces recently destroyed such an armoured vehicle.

Here's What We Know

The 63rd separate mechanised brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed AMN-59051 in the Luhansk region using an FPV drone. Prior to that, only two cases of such armoured vehicles' elimination were documented.

It should also be noted that the Ukrainian Defence Forces were able to capture at least one MRAP last year. A photo of the trophy AMN-59051 was published in early October. The armoured vehicle was captured in the Kherson region.

The AMN-59051 was unveiled at the Army-2022 forum. It is an upgraded version of the VPK-59095C armoured vehicle, which debuted in 2020. The new model received enhanced protection and a turret with a 12.7mm machine gun.

The MRAP is designed to carry up to nine people. The total weight of the armoured vehicle is more than 14,000 kg. The power plant is represented by a 312 horsepower diesel engine. The AMN-59051 has a range of 1,000 kilometres and can reach speeds of over 100 km/h.
