A curious situation occurred on the frontline in Ukraine. Its name is "friendly fire". The Russians used their most powerful non-nuclear weapon (according to propaganda) to fire at their own infantry, the TOS-1A.

Here's What We Know

The video was published by the 47th separate mechanised brigade "Magura" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The use of the heavy flamethrower system was preceded by the detonation of a Russian tank on Russian mines.

After the incident with the combat vehicle, the footage shows the infantry landing and moving into the trenches. After that, their positions were hit with thermobaric missiles of 220 mm calibre from the TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system. Some of the shells hit exactly in the trenches, and some exploded nearby.

Only the retaliatory strike on the TOS-1A was not enough to complete the picture. By the way, according to Oryx, the Russian army has lost at least seven heavy flamethrower systems in 19 months. Four of them were captured by the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The cost is estimated at more than $10 million.
