N7 Day is a success! BioWare has unveiled an intriguing teaser for the new Mass Effect instalment and hinted at the return of Commander Shepard

Yesterday was the N7 day - a traditional holiday in the Mass Effect fans' community.

As expected, BioWare developers organised a real puzzle for gamers.

Perhaps, we will omit complex manipulations with binary codes and other non-obvious things and concentrate on the most interesting things.

Here's What We Know

The head of Mass Effect franchise Mike Gamble published a message to the fans, in which in addition to thanking them for their long-time support and love, he made a hint that Commander Shepard may again be at the centre of the events of the new part of the cult franchise.

We've asked ourselves many of the same questions you've asked us over the years! What happened to everyone you know and love in the games? Who actually died? Who had children with whom? What is the voice of the baby volus? What about all the galaxies? Endings! What the hell is going on with our Azari scientist turned Grey Mediator (Shadowbroker)? And what about S... Never mind. You got it. And, of course, there are answers to these questions, but you'll have to wait to hear them.

A little later, the teaser quest began on the Mass Effect YouTube channel: three short clips named Epsilon, Defiance, Nebula were published there in succession.

By themselves they were absolutely uninformative, but later the developers combined them into one video and it turned out to be quite an interesting teaser. In it, a stylishly dressed man with N7 patch is rapidly walking along some space station.

Flashback

The new part of Mass Effect is at an early stage of development. BioWare game designers will start working on the game after the release of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

According to unconfirmed information, BioWare will continue the plot of the original trilogy about Commander Shepard, but will not ignore the events of Mass Effect Andromeda.
