Taiwan unveiled the Capricorn unmanned helicopter and the Teng Yun reconnaissance drone, similar to the MQ-9 Reaper

The Zhongshan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST), along with the Chien Hsiang kamikaze drone, which can fly 1,000 km and reach speeds of 600 km/h, introduced 2 more novelties.

Here's What We Know

Teng Yun drone. The first model is the Teng Yun. Externally, the drone resembles the American MQ-9 Reaper drone. Next year it will undergo an evaluation of combat readiness, after which mass production will begin.

Teng Yun will be used for reconnaissance for the armed forces of the Republic of China. The first version of the drone was presented back in 2015. The most advanced version of the drone can fly for up to 20 hours and supports satellite control.

Capricorn helicopter. NCSIST's second novelty is an unmanned helicopter. According to the manufacturer, the states have already purchased 50 of these drones. They are now being used in coastal areas and are called the Capricorn.

The drone is able to plot a route in automatic mode and can land without an operator. The maximum flight time is "more than an hour" and the range is more than 30 km. Capricorn is able to transmit images in real time. The army of the Republic of China has armed 14 such UAVs.
