Ukrainian special unit Group 13 with the help of a Magura V5 marine drone destroyed a Russian ship of the project 22160 "Sergey Kotov" worth $65 million

On the night of 4-5 March, the Ukrainian General Directorate of Intelligence carried out a special operation near occupied Crimea, during which it destroyed a Russian ship of Project 22160 Sergei Kotov.

The special unit Group 13 attacked the ship using a Magura V5 maritime drone. As a result of the strike, the Sergei Kotov suffered damage to its stern, as well as to its starboard and port sides. The ship was hit in the territorial waters of Ukraine, near the Kerch Strait. By the way, the Project 22160 ship costs about $65 million and was launched in 2021.

Magura V5 is a Ukrainian maritime drone. It is 5.5 metres long, 1.5 metres wide and can carry up to 320kg of payload. The cruising speed of the maritime drone is almost 40 km/h and the maximum speed is over 75 km/h. Its range exceeds 800 kilometres. In addition to combat missions, it can patrol territories, be used in search and rescue operations, provide fleet security, and perform reconnaissance and surveillance.
