Lockheed Martin has received nearly $100 million to purchase materials for the production of 147 fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter jets

The US Department of Defence has awarded nearly $100m to Lockheed Martin under contract N0001923C0003. The funds are used for procurement to support the construction and delivery of fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter jets.

Here's What We Know

The deal is valued at $95.53 million. The agreement is aimed at procuring long lead time materials, parts and components for the production of F-35 fighter aircraft in lot #18 (Lot 18), which consists of 147 aircraft.

Lot 18 involves the construction and delivery of fifth-generation aircraft for the Navy, Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps and foreign customers. Work will be performed at Lockheed Martin plants in Texas, the United Kingdom, Florida, California, New Hampshire and Maryland.
