Norway to transfer missiles for IRIS-T air defence systems to Ukraine

The Norwegian government is preparing a new military aid package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during his visit to Kyiv. The new aid package will include missiles for IRIS-T SAMs. In addition, Ukraine will receive equipment for demining the territory. There is no information yet on when the arms deliveries will start.

IRIS-T is an air defence system designed to destroy cruise missiles, rockets, aircraft, drones and helicopters at an altitude of up to 25 km and at a distance of up to 40 km. Ukraine is currently armed with IRIS-T SAMs in SLS and SLM modifications.
