There were a lot of rumors in the past year about new sensors that should appear in future models. smart watch Apple Watch. But it looks like they shouldn't be counted on in the next few years.

Do not wait

Apple Watch Series 7 was also credited with a body temperature sensor, but as a result 7th the watch generation never got it. After that, both the Bloomberg publication and the well-known analyst Ming Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) suggested that the next generation will have this feature.

It was also rumored that Apple was working on a method for non-invasive blood glucose monitoring using optical sensors. As a result, diabetics will be able to measure blood sugar levels without piercing the skin or using special devices. The rumors were fueled by the news that Apple is the largest client of UK electronics startup Rockley Photonics, which develops non-invasive optical sensors to detect a variety of blood-related health indicators, including blood pressure, blood glucose and blood alcohol levels.

But in a fresh forecast, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says the Apple Watch Series 8 will likely not get any of these features, and that new sensors will have to wait several years.

“Body temperature has been on the roadmap this year, but talk about it has slowed down lately. Blood pressure will appear at least in two three years, and I would not be surprised if glucose monitoring appears only in the second half of the decade, ”Gurman is sure.
