An unknown cryptocurrency miner suddenly earned approximately $257,000. He managed to mine a Bitcoin block and received a reward of 6.25 BTC.
The mining rig is connected to the CKPool pool. The computing power is 126 TH/s, i.e. approximately 0.000073% of the total network hashrate (over 174 EH/s). Two days ago, the miner was able to mine block 718,124. According to the pool administrator, the chances were 1 in 1,360,000.
The lucky person received 6.25 BTC as a block reward. He gave 0.125 BTC (2%) to the CKPool pool as a commission. At the exchange rate on January 11, 2022, the cost of the remaining 6,125 BTC was approximately $257,000. He can receive about $4,000 more from commissions for transactions in the created block.
