Today, January 14, the long-awaited God of War (2018) has appeared in free access on Steam. On the eve of the game's release, a famous site Game Informer interviewed Corey Borlog, creative project manager, and Matt Dewald, senior technical production manager. Here is the most interesting of their conversation:
-
Despite the fact that Barlog constantly doubting his creative decisions, he was against making changes to something other than the technical side of the "God of War" - they say, it is better to leave everything as it is and eliminate shortcomings in future projects.
-
According to Barlog, the initiative to port PlayStation exclusives came largely from the studios Sony - The teams allegedly offered this idea to the authorities so often that they listened and decided to try it.
-
Barlog doesn't know if it will work GoW Ragnarok on computers and how it can happen - it all depends Sony.
-
The version of the game was prepared for at least two years - that's how long Devald worked on the port. It is possible that the production lasted longer, it is possible that the developer joined the production after its start.
-
And Barlog, and Dewald positive about mods in PC games, but official support for modifications for God of War there are no plans - creating easy-to-learn tools will require too much work.
"Our tools are sophisticated. We just work. We love sophisticated tools. Our engine is not designed to support modifications. Our tools are very fine-tuned and sophisticated in nature. So I don't think mod support will come in the future. Although someone knows. ", - commented Barlog.
