In its formative years, OnePlus positioned itself as a flagship killer maker. And it was justified, since her smartphones offered excellent hardware at attractive prices. But over time, the price tags began to rise, and OnePlus handsets lost their former attractiveness. However, according to rumors, the company intends to regain its former glory.

What does it mean?

According to well-known insider Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is working on a new line of phones focused on productivity and gaming. These devices, as before, will offer flagship processors, while costing in the region of 2000 to 3000 yuan (from 315 to 473 dollars). True, prices in China are generally lower than in the rest of the world, so we expect significant price increases in other countries.

It is also worth noting that the flagship chipset does not mean Snapdragon 8 Gen1 at all. Potentially it could be Mediatek Dimensity 9000 or older SoCs such as Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 870 or Dimensity 1200. But in any case, a big advantage over competitors in this price segment.

Perhaps, in order to reduce the cost, the manufacturer will have to sacrifice some other features - for example, water protection, wireless charging etc.
